One sultry summer's evening...

This month, the Goddesses were invited to Caren's "sex in the city" apartment, at the foot of Table Mountain. And nature pulled out all the stops! Not a breeze in the air, balmy light and later, a near full-moon...

How beautiful is this?!

And the mountain in the background...

Just as beautiful inside as outside...

Festive and spread with love...

Our goddess hostess in action!

And Merle arrives - bearing gifts :)

And Peet - very happy to see us :))

Let me get started on the food:

We had scrumptious Natchos...and this was all that was left!

The evidence left after 3 minutes says it all!

Finger licking good...

Oh, and a real classic bubbly, Pierre Jordan was enjoyed by all!

Njammelam!!

Merle hangs on to the glass :)

And the main was lovely salads and a quiche:

Beautiful, healthy and perfect for the weather...

Basil, pesto, baby tomato and buffalo moz salad - divine!

Pear, butternut, walnut and blue cheese salad - yum!

And for dessert - an ongoing celebration of my birthday (a month ago!) I was surprised by beautiful gifts and a red velvet cake with butter icing...thank you Caren, Peet & Merle.
Love you to the moon & back :)

So special!

Wishes for abundance for all!

Again - evidence of scrumptuousness!

Till next month - L'hiem and chag sameach!

Love!

... a very sad week.

Our friendship was sealed a year ago when we met at Burrata in Observaory and decided to become the Gourmet Goddesses. It was also on the very same evening that we understood this journey was not only about food, but as Peet so eloquently put it, it was about "the bonds that connect us and make us strong".

And how we needed that this week....

This is a mantra in memory of Peet's mom and Merle's husband, who both passed over this week.
We honor the love and the light they shared with so many and we acknowledge that they left this world a better place.

"May you meet the Light with your own ready flame.
May all troubles lift from you in the prayer filled air.
May your radiant Spirit be surrounded by those you love.
May your loving heart never waver in the truth.
And without hesitation, may you always shine."

Om namah shivaya...

Bizerca....

We met on a sultry summer's evening, with the sun just setting over heritage square. A small bistro-like restaurant, balancing between history and hipness.

Fully booked for weeks in advance and with a chillyness in the air, we were placed inside, which was a bit of a shame, as the square feels like a bit european hide-away.

The decor inside is trendy, but the square has the personality.

We had were subdued and opted for different drinks: Whiskey, Bubbles and Chenin Blanc...and lots of water :)

Gorgeous Kingklip....

Caren & Merle had the leg of lamb, which sold out promptly - says it all!

Cheese platter was divine and balanced the meal perfectly.

Caren had a deconstructed chocolate, berry and brule combo...*sigh*.....

Merle ordered her apple tart before we had our drinks....and ate every morsel :)

Bizerca is a place to go if you want something special. The service was excellent and we all agreed....we'll be back!  If you would like to go too: http://www.bizerca.com/

Till next month...L'igheim - to life!
