From India to Morocco, with a touch of Thailand in between :)

It has been a while. We have however made our sacred monthly connect count - with a bit of food and a (bottle) of wine! Since our last post we have visited....

The Taj - February 2015

The evening was a bit of a blur...it was the monthly 'night bicycle ride on a full moon', which occurs once a month in Cape Town. Maybe the moon had something to do with it, but we all felt a bit dazed and out of sorts.

Snacks...njammelam!

They got some smoke action going on...

Bread....excellent...chilli popper? I have never had a bad one :)

The food was OK, service...not so much. Not one we will be recommending to friends, but a beautiful venue and, as always, great to see each other.

चीयर्स (pronounced chiyarsa - cheers in Hindi!)

Rick's American Café - April 2014

It was a rainy cold April evening and we were cosily huddled in  corner at Rick's. This write-up says it all...Casablanca (Moroccan) meets Cape Town (Malay).

Loved the food - from snacks to the tagines and the bouillabaisse, and not to mention the desserts. Every bit was delightful - we'll be back!

Fe Sehetak (cheers in arabic!)

Yindees - June 2015

Close to the winter solstice we made it to this stalwart Cape Town Thai restaurant. In Thailand Yindees means 'welcome' and we were expecting solid Thai cooking for the evening - the food did not disappoint. Nothing that made us want to jump, but if you are looking for authentic Thai food in a old Victorian setting, this is the place!

We had the 'must have's' - from the crispy duck to the wok chilli fish and some serious noodle work to seal the deal. Dessert? Not so much...also not a wine list to make you sit up and go gaga...but still.

With these beautiful women and good plate of food, all is well in my world :)

Choc tee ka (cheers to woman in Thai)
